Packing advice

10 useful ways to label moving boxes

Make unpacking easier with labels that tell you what is inside and where it belongs.

1–3: Start with the basics

Write the destination room, a short description of the contents and a box number. Keep the wording clear enough that someone else can understand it.

4–6: Make labels easy to see

Label the top and at least one side, use a dark marker and keep the format consistent. Cover or remove old labels if you reuse a box.

7–8: Flag what matters

Mark fragile contents and identify boxes you’ll need first. Avoid writing sensitive details or advertising valuables on the outside.

9–10: Keep a simple inventory

Match box numbers to a short list on paper or your phone. Share your room labels or floor plan with the moving team so boxes arrive in the right place.
