Identify what needs attention
Make a list of glassware, artwork, ceramics and other delicate items. Tell the moving team about anything particularly valuable, unusual or difficult to handle before the move.
Wrap and cushion
Wrap items individually with suitable protective material and use padding between them. Avoid leaving gaps that allow movement, without forcing too much into a box.
Label clearly
Mark fragile boxes and note which way up they should travel where relevant. Labels help, but sound packing and careful handling are still essential.
Discuss special requirements
Ask the team about items needing specialist packing or handling. Clarify the agreed scope and the applicable terms before booking; don’t assume every item or risk is covered.
